2025 AAU JO ALL-AMERICANS

Layla earned All-American honors in all three of her events during the 2025 season. She set personal bests inthe 100m (running a blistering 12.43), 200m (25.53) and 400m (where she demolished the 1-minute barrier by running a 58.84). Layla is the only 12-year-old girl to make finals in all three sprints at AAU Junior Olympics this season!

Sam-Marie earned Heart of Houston's first EVER national medal when she won bronze in the 3,000m race walk. Her talents aren't only limited to the track, however; she also medaled (and set a personal best of 91-10) in the javelin. Way to go!

Leo is a three-time All-American in distance events, where he was the third leg on the national championship-winning 12 boys 4x800m team, earned a bronze medal (and a PR of 4:42) in the 1,500m, and won the silver medal in the 3,000, where he broke 10 minutes with a jaw-dropping 9:59.

Leo Mendoza

Dane is a two-time All-American, running the anchor leg on the national championship-winning 12 boys 4x800 team, and also earning an individual honor in the open 800m, where he ran an incredible PR of 2:13. With the poise he demonstrated on the track this Junior Olympics, it's hard to believe that this was his first season of track and field. Great job, Dane!

Harrison Mangum

Harrison came in fourth in the nation in the 12 boys 800m with an incredible time of 2:12, and also ran second leg on the national championship-winning 12 boys 4x800m team. Excellent runs, Harrison!

12 Girls 4x800 Team

The team of Ailey Lumpkin, Emelie Ellis, Carla Kennedy-Sanchez and Néla Waymel earned All-American honors in the 4x800m relay, running a season-best time of 10:52. Way to put in the work, ladies!

Asher Smith

In his first year ever running track, Asher qualified for Junior Olympics in the open 400m and 800m, medaling in the latter with a time of 2:33. Pretty impressive for a 9-year old!

12 Boys 4x800 Team

The team of Rixford Brown, Harrison Mangum, Leo Mendoza and Dane Smith pulled off Heart of Houston's first-ever national championship, winning the 12 boys 4x800 relay in 9:24.83. Amazing job, gentlemen!
